About

The zeitnot MPlayer GUI is a Windows graphical user interface program for the excellent MPlayer - The Movie Player.
The zeitnot MPlayer GUI is free software distributed under the GNU GPL.
This frontend was created and designed under Windows 98 but also works under most Windows OS.
If you find any bugs or you would like some more features, please drop me a mail.

Features

Small and cute interface: Larger and slightly less cute interface:
  • Drag and Drop operations.
  • Playlist control (add files/folder, re-order, etc...).
  • Movie control (play, pause, stop, seek, etc...).
  • Video control (brightness, contrast, etc...).
  • Sound control (volume and mute).
  • Subtitles control (on/off, subtitles selection, alignment).
  • On Screen Display.
  • MPlayer window fullscreen and Stay On Top.
  • Frame by frame play for these memorable screenshots.
All the features of the small interface plus these ones:
  • Video driver selection.
  • Sound driver selection.
  • Sound stream selection.
  • MPlayer priority mode.
  • Slowmotion and fastmotion.
  • Audio/video synchronization adjustment.
  • File type association.
  • Additional command line arguments can be typed in the GUI for more MPlayer options.
  • MPlayer console output shows up in the GUI itself.

You will need to install MPlayer for Windows first
in order for the zeitnot MPlayer GUI to work:

STEP 1 - install MPlayer for Windows:
MPlayer 1.0pre7 for Windows binary maintained by Sascha Sommer MPlayer-mingw32-1.0pre7.zip

STEP 2 - install zeitnot MPlayer GUI:

Install

Install the binary install:
  1. Unzip the MPlayer for Windows binary zip file in the directory of your choice.
  2. Run the file zeitMPlayerGUI_install_1.0.167.exe
  3. Select the directory where MPlayer for Windows resides (default is C:\mplayer).
Install the binary zip:
  1. Unzip the MPlayer for Windows binary zip file in the directory of your choice.
  2. Unzip the zeit MPlayer GUI where MPlayer for Windows resides (default is C:\mplayer).
That's it! Run the zeitMPlayerGUI.exe file to play your movie/media files.
